a note - Just realized that panel 5 could be misconstrued: Roofadoodle doesn't actually sit Zimmelman on the side of the road like that. Martha's just describing the way Roofadoodle dramatically introduced Zimmelman (our resident nutcase) like some must-see local attraction. He's exaggerating everyone's craziness to scare Swinson, the newbie. Though, I wouldn't put it past Roofadoodle to use Zimmelman like an advertisement...

And with these characters meeting most of my theories about the plot of this comic vanish into the air... how aggravating.

Ahh, theories you say? I'd be interested to hear them anyway even if you think they're wrong. You might not be entirely off the mark, since the interaction between Martha and Swinson here and in the next few pages is kinda... misleading... It'll all make sense in the end though, hopefully.
